SDN BHD Sapura Offshore Sdn Bhd has been awarded with a contract for PRP7 Pipeline Replacement Project by Brunei Shell Petroleum Co. Sdn Bhd. The contract scope of work comprises of the base scope of replacement of 16” x 9.4km pipeline PID1494 including topside modification, riser and pipeline demolition, as well as optional scope of replacement of 6” x 1.0km pipeline PID2008 including topside modification, riser and pipeline demolition. The works are expected to be completed by Q1 FY2022.
Singapore CONTRACT FOR THE ENGINEERING, PROCUREMENT, CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION FOR THE SBM PIPELINE REJUVENATION PHASE II PROJECT BY SHELL EASTERN PETROLEUM (PTE) LTD Sapura Offshore Sdn Bhd Singapore Branch has been awarded together with its consortium partner Dredging International Asia Pacific, the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation contract for the Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) Pipeline Rejuvenation Phase II Project by Shell Eastern Petroleum (Pte) Ltd. The contract scope of work comprises a pre-emptive repair of the nearshore pipeline section, rejuvenate the SBM system and optional removal of existing pipeline to ensure fitness for service of the crude offloading system to Bukom Refinery at Singapore. The works are expected to be completed by Q3 FY2023.
Thailand CONTRACT FOR ASSET RETIREMENT OFFSHORE REMOVAL CAMPAIGN FROM CHEVRON THAILAND EXPLORATION AND PRODUCTION, LTD Sapura Energy (Thailand) Limited has received an award for the provision of project management, engineering, procurement, offshore heavy lifting vessel and transportation spread to execute the work for Asset Retirement Offshore Removal Campaign (“Contract”) in Thailand from Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd. The Contract scope of work comprises of project management, engineering, procurement, offshore heavy lifting vessel and transportation spread to decommission seven offshore jackets, wet tow and reef jacket at reef site. The offshore campaign is expected to commence within FY2021.
Malaysia CONTRACT FOR PAN MALAYSIA TRANSPORTATION & INSTALLATION OF OFFSHORE FACILITIES BY HESS E&P MALAYSIA Sapura Offshore Sdn Bhd has received an award for Pan Malaysia Transportation & Installation of Offshore Facilities from Hess Exploration and Production Malaysia B.V pursuant to the Umbrella Contract for the Pan Malaysia Transportation and Installation of Offshore Facilities (2017-2020). The contract scope of work comprises of the provision of project management, installation engineering, transportation and installation of the following at Bergading Central Processing Platform: - Gas Module and Support Frame
- Condensate Module and Support Frame
- Shutdown Valve Platform
The works are expected to be completed by Q4 FY2021.
Malaysia - Thailand CONTRACT FOR ADDITIONAL ANDALAS PIPELINE PROJECT PHASE 4 DEVELOPMENT FROM CARIGALI-PTTEPI OPERATING COMPANY SDN BHD Sapura Offshore Sdn Bhd has received an award for the provision of engineering, procurement, construction and installation service for Additional Andalas Pipeline Project Phase 4 Development (“Contract”) in The Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area (MTJDA) from Carigali-PTTEPI Operating Company Sdn Bhd. The Contract scope of work comprises of engineering, procurement, construction, installation and pre-commissioning of 20” x 29km subsea pipeline from ADB to JKA platforms, including riser and riser guard installation. The effective date of the Contract is 30th April 2020 and the works are scheduled to be completed within 15 months.
FINANCIAL EFFECTS The Contracts announced herein will have no effect on the issued capital of the Company and are expected to contribute positively towards the earnings of Sapura Energy and its subsidiaries (“the Group”) for the financial year ending 31 January 2021 and the financial period thereafter within the duration of the Contracts period.
RISK FACTORS Risk factors affecting the Contracts including execution risks such as availability of skilled manpower and materials, changes in pricing, weather conditions and/or political, economic and regulatory conditions. Notwithstanding, the Group has established a successful track record undertaking similar projects.
DIRECTORS’ AND MAJOR SHAREHOLDERS’ INTERESTS None of the Directors and/or major shareholders of the Company and/or persons connected with them have any direct or indirect interest in the award of the Contracts herein.

Engineering & Construction:
Mexico AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING, PROCUREMENT, CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF AMOCA PLATFORM BY ENI MEXICO S. DE R. L. DE C.V. Sapura Energy Mexicana S.A.P.I. de C.V. has been awarded a contract for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation for the Eni Mexico S. de R. L. de C.V. Amoca Project – Offshore Block Area 1 in Mexico. The contract scope of work comprises the transportation and installation of Amoca Platform and the pipeline and subsea cable scope of work interconnecting the Amoca and Mizton platforms and Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO). The works are expected to be completed by Q4 FY2022.
Brazil EXTENSION OF CONTRACT FOR THE CHARTER AND OPERATIONS OF PIPE LAYING SUPPORT VESSEL “SAPURA ESMERALDA” FROM PETROLEO BRASILEIRO S.A. (“PETROBRAS”) Sapura Navegação Marítima S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Seabras Sapura Participações S.A., a joint venture company between Sapura Offshore Sdn Bhd and Seabras Serviços De Petroleo S.A., a subsidiary of Seadrill Limited, has been awarded with twelve (12) months extension for the charter and service contracts respectively by Petrobras in Brazil. The contract scope of work comprises the provision of services and charter for installation and recovery of flexible pipes, by utilizing Sapura Esmeralda in the Brazilian waters. Sapura Esmeralda shall perform all operations required for the installation of the flexible pipes, electric-hydraulic umbilical and power cables, new or used, such as loading, unloading, laying, connection between spans, vertical connection (first and second end) on submarine equipment, installation of submarine equipment and hydrostatic test, in a maximum water depth of 2500 meters. The existing contract is expected to complete by April 2021 and the twelve (12) months extension will commence immediately after the duration of the original contract of Sapura Esmeralda ends.
Drilling:
Ivory Coast AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR TENDER ASSIST DRILLING RIG “SAPURA BERANI” BY FOXTROT INTERNATIONAL LDC. Sapura Drilling Holdings Limited has been awarded a contract for the provision of its Tender Assist Drilling Rig “Sapura Berani” services by Foxtrot International LDC. The contract scope comprises the provision of semi tender-assist drilling rig services for 3 wells commencing in Q1 FY2022 for a period of 9 months offshore Ivory Coast plus one option of one well extension.
FINANCIAL EFFECTS The Contracts announced herein will have no effect on the issued capital of the Company and is expected to contribute positively towards the earnings of Sapura Energy Berhad and its subsidiaries (“the Group”) for the financial year ending 31 January 2021 and the financial period thereafter within the duration of the Contracts period.
RISK FACTORS Risk factors affecting the Contracts include execution risks such as availability of skilled manpower and materials, changes in pricing, weather conditions and/or political, economic, operational and commercial impacts of COVID-19 and regulatory conditions. Type | Announcement | Subject | OTHERS | Description | SAPURA ENERGY BERHADASSISTANCE TO MEDIATE BY THE CORPORATE DEBT RESTRUCTURING COMMITTEE OF BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA | The Board of Directors of Sapura Energy Berhad (“SEB”) wishes to announce that the Corporate Debt Restructuring Committee of Malaysia (“CDRC”), a committee under the purview of Bank Negara Malaysia (“BNM”), has on 1 September 2022 accepted SEB’s application for assistance to mediate in the debt restructuring negotiations with its MCF Financiers (“Lenders”), being certain financial institutions who have provided multicurrency facilities to Sapura TMC Sdn. Bhd., under: - the senior multicurrency term facilities agreement dated 29 March 2021 between, inter alia, Sapura TMC Sdn. Bhd. as borrower, and the banks named therein as conventional facility lenders; and/or
- the multicurrency sukuk programme of up to RM10 billion in nominal value based on the Shariah principle of murabahah (via a tawarruq arrangement), established under a programme agreement originally dated 20 August 2015 between Sapura TMC Sdn. Bhd. as issuer, Maybank Investment Bank Berhad as lead arranger, and Maybank Investment Bank Berhad as facility agent, and as thereafter amended and supplemented.
SEB and nine of its subsidiaries, who are obligors to the MCF Financiers, which are listed in the Appendix 1 (“Admitted Group Companies”), were admitted with effect from that date.
Following the CDRC’s acceptance of SEB’s application, CDRC has issued a letter addressed to: - SEB and its Lenders whereby the Lenders are expected to observe an informal standstill and withhold from any proceedings and SEB is expected to submit a proposal for a restructuring of its debts within 60 days from 1 September 2022; and
- SEB where SEB and the Admitted Group Companies are required to adhere to and be bound by Bank Negara Malaysia CDRC Participant’s Code of Conduct (“Code”) and any variations thereof as determined at the discretion of the CDRC from time to time.
The operations of the SEB Group shall continue as usual in the interim.
Further announcements will be made as and when appropriate.
