The world's toughest, kitten-loving hero returns to the big screen in August 2008 with Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. Helmed by Oscar®-nominated filmmaker Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy), the Hellboy franchise already boasts global success and a loyal fanbase. Universal Studios Consumer Products Group is currently seeking licensing partners for this latest edition in the Hellboy saga across all categories.
One of the most successful independent comic books of all-time with nearly 15 years and 100+ feature comic books under his belt, Hellboy first ignited the theatrical screen in 2004 taking in more than $100 million at the worldwide box office and reaching a largely male and under-25 audience. Hellboy 2: The Golden Army continues the story with bigger muscle, badder weapons and more ungodly villains all cast in del Toro's epic vision of imagination.
"Hellboy strikes a chord with its die-hard fanbase, and we think that this new addition to the film franchise will engage an even broader audience," said Cindy Chang, Vice President Global Business Development, Universal Studios Consumer Products Group. "Our merchandising program will reflect this audience's sensibilities, and we're looking forward to exploring new directions for the brand."
Film Synopsis
With a signature blend of action, humor and character-based spectacle, the saga of the world's toughest, kitten-loving hero from Hell continues to unfold in Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. Bigger muscle, badder weapons and more ungodly villains arrive in an epic vision of imagination from Oscar®-nominated director Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy).
After an ancient truce existing between humankind and the invisible realm of the fantastic is broken, hell on Earth is ready to erupt. A ruthless leader who treads the world above and the one below defies his bloodline and awakens an unstoppable army of creatures. Now, it's up to the planet's toughest, roughest superhero to battle the merciless dictator and his marauders. He may be red. He may be horned. He may be misunderstood. But when you need the job done right, it's time to call in Hellboy (Ron Perlman).
Along with his expanding team in the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Development—pyrokinetic girlfriend Liz (Selma Blair), aquatic empath Abe (Doug Jones) and protoplasmic mystic Johann—the BPRD will travel between the surface strata and the unseen magical one, where creatures of fantasy become corporeal. And Hellboy, a creature of two worlds who's accepted by neither, must choose between the life he knows and an unknown destiny that beckons him.

在下非常欣赏此作品, 包含有西方恐怖文学大师H.P.Lovecraft的味道...
Guillermo del Toro非常适合拍此类型的电影,就好象最近的Pan's Labyrinth.当然原作者Mike Mignola当然也是此电影的一大功臣之一...
期待着The Golden Army... |

Hellboy Animated: Swords of Storm - 在下有看过... 的确,原作者的作画风格被简化后,人物变成非常卡通化... 不过,还是很想看一看接下来的, Blood and Iron... |

在下照单全收了,剧情是闷了点,不过要将漫画中的故事照搬上动画是比较难的,因为这个故事分了数册来交代,一次过连成一体,显得很勉强... |

回覆Incognito,也對啦..要將整個原作故事改編成一集是難了點..其實我沒有真正看過原作的故事,所以我想這個應該是全新的故事吧..前面也沒有確實交代前戲.. |

在下也没有看过原作,不过大概知道动画里面的情节是不同故事中取在合为一体,然后加一些原创的东西. 比如说,hellboy碰上那群日本飞头蛮的部分是来自这一册Abe Sapien: Drums of the Dead... (hellboy的外传) |

Trailer终于出了！感觉比上一集更＂劲秋＂。
DEL TORO 的作品，可能你们很希望有什么大爆炸或枪战动作！但DEL TORO 最想给观众的是角色的背景与内心！HELLBOY当中Professor Trevor死的那一幕，HELLBOY不能当众送他入土，在角落淋雨！色调－从很温暖的灯光到寒冷暴雨外景的转变，配上了悲惨的音乐和节奏，拍得超赞！
这集加入了他对美术的VISSION！真的超期待！
