微软IMAGINE CUP 2006

请问各位有听过微软主办的 IMAGINE CUP 吗？
水准真的很高！虽说有student advisor在旁协助！
今年是在印度。。虽说对大马队来说，希望有点渺茫。。。
有哪些学院生或者大学生参加国内的吗？敢挑战吗？
今年是第三届咯。。。MMU还会再次称霸吗？
也请各位专业人士或者IT 学生提供看法咯。。。

哎呀。。发现这里多数是上班了的IT 人士！anyway,有人挑战吗？
我很想参与。。因为是个出路的机会。。。可以认识到很多IT界的精英！
有前辈参与过吗？虽然在马来西亚只有三年
我真的很希望能加入。。不希望往后的日子在小圈子打转。。虽有着什么programmer的头衔
any ideas or proposal?

那 5个 成 员 ， 有 2个 是 phD 的 学 生 。 。 是 在 当 校 当 LECTURER 的 。 。 。 虽 说 是 学 生 ， 但 是 竞 争 分 别 太 大 了 吧 ， phD 和 diploma/degree... 中 间 还 差 整 个 Master . Lol ...

Imagine Cup 更注重创意，Phd 不Phd 的根本没关系。应用技术方面说不定Bachelor 的还强过Phd。因为你读Phd 都忙得让你没时间去学什么WinFX, Avaron，VisioStudio….. 更注重算法概念及基础理论。

言下之意是phD ／diploma 没分别罗？ 相信绝对欢迎phD student 参加。。只不过在这儿告诉大家第一名的有个很忙的phD & lecturer 参加。。。这样的比赛一路来都是学院鼓励学生多参与，给予他们不同的经验，如果酱忙就别参啦。。无胃那么辛苦哦。 还有上面这位人兄，如果那个参加的phD 不会visio studio..那她／他 一定是弄device 的了。。比赛说明要用哦。

哈哈，似乎引起了一些不必要的误会。

转载部份参赛条件，列明只要十六岁或以上的在籍学生就能参加。别单单只看马来西亚。说不定在某些外国的区域赛是Phd 学生之间的竞技场，也有可能是中学队伍间的较量。

Who can enter?
You are eligible to enter any category if you are 16 years of age or older at the time of entry, and are actively enrolled as a student at an accredited educational institution that grants high-school or college/university (or equivalent) degrees. However, the minimum age limit may vary for specific countries.
Who can't enter?
There are three groups of people who are ineligible to enter:
1.        If you are an employee of Microsoft Corporation (the Sponsor), or an employee of a Microsoft subsidiary, prize supplier, advertising or promotion agency, or any other company that is involved in the execution of this contest at the time of entry, you are not allowed to enter or win prizes. Microsoft interns and campus representatives (such as Student Ambassadors, Student Champs) who have eligible student status may enter, but they are prohibited from using Microsoft property or resources in the creation or execution of their entry. This would include, but is not limited to, Microsoft networks, Microsoft hardware tools and technology resources, or the counsel of Microsoft employees.
2.        If you are an immediate family member of (parent, sibling, spouse, child) or living in the same household as any person described in group 1 above at the time of entry, you are not allowed to enter or win prizes.
3.        If you have won the world wide final of the invitational that you are entering in a previous Imagine Cup you are ineligible to enter this particular invitational again but may compete in other invitationals.

分别?“闻道有先后，术业有专攻，如是而已”。
＂注重算法概念及基础理论＂，应接上“的学习，研究与开发”….不好意识。
强不强看你如何定义所谓的“强”。Ultraman与Superman谁比较强？还得看比什么，对吗？

Judging Elements
1. 15% Problem Definition
o        How difficult is the problem being addressed? How well is it being defined?
定义问题-发现与找寻等待解决的问题。请问参赛作品中哪些问题是要大学程度以上才能发现的？问题源于生活，Phd / 中学生都过着他们自己的生活。
2. 60% Design
   Equal consideration will be given to:
        Innovation – applications that approach a new problem, or look at an old problem in a new way. （不是说年纪越小越有创意？）
        Impact - applications that either impact a large number of people very broadly, or impact a smaller number of people very deeply. （这取决于问题的定义和对象。无关Phd或中学生）
        Effectiveness – to what degree the application actually solves the problem in question. （解决问题的有效性-Phd学生提出的方案解决问题比较有效？非也，说不定还兜了大圈）
3. 15% Development
o        The judges will be looking for elegant system architectures that break the problem down into logical chunks and modules. （系统设计和实行- Phd student 可能还比不上常接freelance的diploma生）

4. 10% Presentation
o        The judges will be looking for oral presentations that provide background and context to the project, explain why the problem is an interesting one, highlight how the system works, and include an insightful demonstration. Teams will also be evaluated on their ability to take questions from the judging panel. . (比presentation，做MLM的最好了，听完后你回到家可能还兴奋到睡不着。如果读了Phd presentation 比较好的话，怎么还有那么多人在讲堂上睡觉:p)

相信主办当局是已将中学生至post grad的能力差距都考虑在内了，才列出以上的评分标准的。

至于楼上一直强调的第一名队伍，该lecturer/PHD member应该只是负责统筹和present， 因为最后Q&A的技术问题都由其他团员包办，当然，纯属本人猜测。

祝贺所有的得奖队伍，希望他们在世界的舞台上位马来西亚争光。
