The four wafer fab parks here - in the North Coast, Woodlands, Tampines and Pasir Ris - are home to the country's semiconductor and electronics industries, and accommodate 14 global semiconductor firms and over 18,600 workers.
Minister of State for Trade and Industry Alvin Tan added: "Often, the working environment in electronics can be sterile with various 'clean' rooms.
"This is important to maintain quality control in our production of various circuits and chips.
"However, we know also that many of our younger workers today prefer a more vibrant and green environment."
He noted that continuing to attract Singaporeans to the sector is vital as the industry grows.
It now employs around 70,500 workers and contributes 39 per cent of manufacturing gross domestic product.

VIS To Acquire GlobalFoundries’ Fab 3E (Tampines ) In Singapore

In December2019, we transferred ownership of Fab 3E, locatedat the GF Singapore Tampines campus to Vanguard International Semiconductor (VIS) ( Taiwan company ).
The history of 4 GIGA+ Fab goes back to 1995 when Fab 2 first started production.
Our 300mm Fab 7 commenced operation in 2005, and has evolved ever since.
The last significant extension was during 2016, when ourformer 200mm ( 8 inch ) Fab 6 was converted to 300mm ( 12 inch ) ( Fab 7G ) and merged into
Fab 7.
The GF Singapore fabswere previously owned by Chartered SemiconductorManufacturing and were acquired by GF in 2010.

The 3M Singapore Tuas Plant started production in December 2009 and manufactures web-based specialty film products, (3M™ Particulate Respirator 8210, N95 Mask )respirators, polymer processing additives, and traffic safety systems for customers in Asia, Europe and USA. The Tuas Plant has certification in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485and OHSAS 18001.

现在在家工作的马劳路过。。。
）。新政府努力的要企业转型是可取的，鼓励往高科技与科研发展。不过我个人认为engineering在新加坡已奄奄一息了，制造业已没有前途了。试想看，一间工厂可聘用4000人。工程师与技工可占一半。如果一间科研公司，最多也是聘用一两百人。要找几间科研公司才能抵得上一间工厂呢？新加坡每年理工学院大学毕业生是以数万计的，制造业有足够的工作职位吗？
