马来西亚本土音乐是由一班热爱马来西亚的音乐人所写词编曲。马来西亚本土音乐中的每句歌词与旋律都诉说着马来西亚独有的文化特点。
马来西亚曾经拥有过相当社会写实的歌曲，如：《茨厂街》（另类音乐人）、《嘛嘛档》（阿牛）、《童年颂》（山脚下男孩）。

Malaysian local music is a music that made by Malaysian citizens. The Malaysian local music has its own unique sound, including 3 different region, cultural, language, and moral inside of the music.
The most representative local Chinese music in Malaysia are "Ci Chang Jie"(Petaling Street) sang by Tan Kheng Seong, and "Tong Nian Song" (Childhood Song) sang by the Foothills Boys.
