香港年轻人跟新加坡年轻人的分别


I AM a university student from Hong Kong. In January, I joined an exchange programme organised by Hong Kong's Home Affairs Bureau and Singapore's People's Association.
A group of us met Singapore teenagers and stayed in their homes. It was a valuable opportunity to interact with them and learn about their cultures, lifestyles and values.
Many people have the impression that Singapore and Hong Kong teenagers are very alike. This is true to some extent. We study in competitive environments and are caught up with examinations. The pace of life is fast, and we are often stressed and overburdened. We crave for success and achievements, and strive hard to meet the standards set by our societies.
However, I saw something different in my Singaporean friends - that is, their passion and love for their country, and their strong awareness of community involvement.
For instance, my host, a National University of Singapore student, is a grassroots leader serving the needy groups in his neighbourhood and organising youth activities.
The grassroots leaders' sense of social responsibility and service leadership is indeed impressive.
The Government values their views and invites them for regular gatherings to understand the people's needs. In fact, the Government gives funding to these grassroots associations and supports their daily operations.
This is something that we in Hong Kong can learn from. With the widening wealth gap in Hong Kong, we need responsible citizens to care about the underprivileged and promote stronger community bonding. The concept of grassroots leaders will be effective in training our younger generation to be future leaders. They benefit from being given responsibilities to serve society, and learning to become mature and caring. Above all, they feel a sense of importance, encouragement and gratification.
As a law student at the University of Hong Kong, I believe in social justice and constantly look for ways to contribute to my community. The idea of grassroots leaders will be a remarkable way to gather passionate and dedicated teenagers to build a more harmonious and inclusive society in Hong Kong.

我是一所大学的学生来自香港。在1月，我参加了由香港民政事务局和新加坡人民协会举办的交流计划。

我们一组会见了新加坡青少年和住在自己家中。这是一个宝贵的机会，与他们进行互动，了解他们的文化，生活方式和价值观。

许多人的印象中，新加坡和香港的青少年非常相像。这在一定程度上是真实的。我们在竞争激烈的环境中学习，赶上了考试。生活节奏快，我们经常强调和负担过重。我们渴望成功和成就，努力拼搏，以满足我们的社会所定的标准。

然而，我看到了不同的东西在我的新加坡朋友 - 那就是，他们的激情和热爱自己的国家，和他们的社区参与意识不强。

举例来说，我的主机，国立新加坡大学学生，是一个基层的领导者，在他的附近，举办青年活动为需要帮助的群体。

基层领袖的社会责任意识和服务的领导的确令人印象深刻。

政府十分重视他们的意见，并邀请他们定期聚会，了解人民群众的需求。事实上，政府给予的资金对这些基层组织和支持他们的日常运作。

这是我们在香港可以借鉴的东西。在香港的贫富差距，我们需要负责任的公民，关心弱势群体，促进社区凝聚力更强。基层领袖的概念，将会有效地培养我们的年轻一代是未来的领导者。他们受益于职责，服务社会，学习成为成熟和富有爱心。最重要的是，他们感受到的重要性，鼓励和满足的感觉。

作为一个在香港大学法律系学生，我相信社会正义和不断地寻找我的社区做出贡献。基层领袖的想法将是一个显着的方式来收集热情和敬业的青少年，在香港建立一个更加和谐和包容性的社会。

素还真

部分香港人很自私，散播仇恨和假新闻，怂恿小孩子上街示威甚至在前线暴动成为大人的旗子和挡箭牌。
