如何知道狗狗是否过重？

我有两个问题：

1。我的玩具贵宾狗3个月半大，现在重1.5kg，根据网上的一些图表，他有点过重，但昨天医生却说他有点瘦，因为可以摸到他的颈脊骨。

所以，有些可以确认下怎样才知道狗狗是否过重？


2。有朋友告诉我一些狗狗一开始时会发育的比较快，但后期就比较慢；一些狗则相反。有这样的事吗？

我的是toy poodle， 也是三个多月，前天去打针，已经1.8kg了
但一冲凉就觉得她收到不得了。。。

正确地看狗有没有过重，是要靠我们看狗和摸狗后才能决定的。不过，我只有英文的资料，你们自己看看参考吧

The best way to tell if your dog is the correct weight is by the RIB TEST, this is the way that I and many others have been taught.

If you can feel the ribs under the fur easily but not see them and a nice waistline, then that is the correct weight for your dog.

If you can't feel the ribs easily and there is a thick covering of fat over them and you dog looks square with no waistline, then it is over weight.

If you can see the ribs and the hip bones protruding and the dog is NOT moulting, then you dog is underweight.

You do have to take into consideration when the dog is moulting..you will see the ribs more easily, but not excessive.

When any of our dogs are moulting ( blowing the coat ) we give them a little more kibble as moulting takes alot out of the dog when doing so. As soon as moulting has finished we cut the food back to the normal amount...even when we are giving them more kibble, we still monitor their weight with the RIB TEST.

Now some Sibes are what is called ' Close Coat ' which means that they have a very thin coat compared to most..still monitor them with the RIB Test, but when in moult you will see their ribs very easily...infact you will see their ribs more than you would with a sibe with a thicker coat anyway..if you can count the ribs, then they are under weight.

Please remember that a FAT Sled Dog is an unhealthy Sled Dog..you will cause it to have difficulty breathing, can contribute to Hip Displasia and being over weight can lead to Heart Attacks.

A skinny underweight dog will suffer from alsorts of illnessess and will be a weak sickly animal.

The exceptions of course for little fat bundles of fluff...are puppies, who will have puppy fat that they will be growing into and running off..as soon as the puppy fat starts to be ran off, you need to start to make sure you have a lean mean running machine
