Midway Gold Builds Operations Team for Nevada Gold Projects
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Midway Gold Corp. (TSX.V and NYSE Amex: MDW) (“Midway” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Roger G. Gross to the position of Vice President of Nevada Operations for its U.S. operating subsidiary.
“Midway is excited and pleased to add Roger to our team as he is a respected and experienced operator in the gold industry, and will bring immediate value to our Nevada projects and future growth of the Company,” said Ken Brunk, President and COO of Midway. “Roger’s level of technical expertise in operating mines will be valuable and important to our shareholders. He will be based locally at our regional office in Ely, Nevada, and will lead our development and construction team in executing the anticipated feasibility study and mine plan for the Pan project.”
Mr. Gross holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mining Engineering from the School of Mines and Engineering at Montana Tech in Butte, Montana and throughout his 29 year career has managed mining operations in the Western U.S. and around the world. Most recently, he was responsible for management of all business unit activities for American Colloid Company’s mining operations in South Dakota and Nevada. Previously, he spent 15 years with Newmont Gold Company, where his range of activities included posts as mine manager of the Batu Hijau operation through the establishment of the Closure and Reclamation business unit in Nevada. Prior to Newmont, he served in positions as mine engineer, foreman and superintendent for a number of precious metals companies, including Freeport McMoran Copper and Gold, Bond International Gold, Western Energy Company, and the Energy Development Company. Mr. Gross has extensive experience in financial evaluation, feasibility, permitting, engineering, construction, and mine operations management, including through the reclamation phase of operations.
Mr. Gross reports to Midway’s Vice President of Project Development, Richard Moritz, and will be responsible for overseeing the development, construction and operation of the Company’s projects in Nevada, principally Pan and Gold Rock in White Pine County and the Midway Project in Nye County.
At Pan, a reverse circulation drilling program is currently underway to follow up on results of last year’s diamond core drilling program, to potentially upgrade inferred resources to higher categories and to explore for open mineralization at depth and along strike at North and South Pan. At the Midway Project, a diamond core drilling program is also in progress to further define additional vein-like structures identified from earlier drilling.
Midway’s Nevada operations are based from its regional office located in Ely, Nevada. |

Paramount Gold Announces New Resource Estimation for New Drilling at San Miguel Project
WINNEMUCCA, NEVADA--(Marketwire - 04/11/11) - Paramount Gold (AMEX ZG - News)(TSXZG - News)(Frankfurt6G - News)(WKN: A0HGKQ) (" aramount" announces new NI 43-101 compliant resource estimates for its 100% owned San Miguel project in Mexico. The new estimates, prepared by Mine Development Associates (MDA) of Reno, Nevada, cover the five areas where new drilling took place in 2010, including the two most recent discoveries of San Francisco and Don Ese.
The MDA estimates represent a significant increase in both gold and silver resources for the project. The estimates also include a meaningful indicated resource for the first time. Updating geological models are also in progress for the remaining four areas at San Miguel, where additional metallurgical work and a small amount of additional drilling are needed to enable these resources to be stated to the same standard as the new estimates.
MDA used geology, mineralogy and statistical analyses to create three-dimensional gold and silver domains and construct, estimate and classify block grade models for each of the deposits. These domains were interpreted and projected vertically and along strike based on mineralogical and geological continuity, using different parameters specific to each domain and each zone. Interpolation was used to assign grades to all blocks within these domains.
This new methodology provides a significant increase in confidence compared to Paramount`s previous NI 43-101 estimates completed in 2009, which employed a two dimensional polygonal model for their estimates. The new methodology will enable Paramount's exploration team to better define drilling to expand the recent discoveries, upgrade inferred resources and categorize mineral types for further metallurgical testing required for a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA).
The new estimates restrict the high grade zones within the mineralizing structures, but incorporate the lower grade zones surrounding them. This method better reflects the distribution of precious metals and captures more mineralization than previous methods. Preliminary metallurgical testing has shown positive results for direct cyanide extraction which should facilitate recovery from the lower grade zones.
Commenting on the results, Paramount President and CEO Chris Crupi noted that "the main benefit of these early resource estimates is to direct further drilling to expand these deposits and prepare them for the PEA we expect to complete on San Miguel in 2012. These targets will now be drilled aggressively to build on these positive results and the knowledge we have gained from these resource models." |

听说以后会缺粮食，不懂是不是真的。
可是现在的trend 好像是油和金。可能你现在可以投资在粮食上先，未雨绸缪^^. |
