「三星需要一個專有的操作系統來推動智能手機市場份額增長，bada系統的推出這是這個目的，三星bada系統將會分佈到從低端到高端的產品線中。」李浩洙表示。
三星在去年宣佈推出bada系統之後，一直在進行著這個新系統的完善和新手機的研發工作。該公司計劃將會在未來幾周內在英國和德國首先推出三星Wave S8500手機，並開通應用程序商店，為用戶提供各種應用內容。這款手機的行貨版也已經出現在工信部電信設備認證中心的網站上，預計不久之後就會正式上市。

另外三星已經宣佈開啟移動應用開發大賽，總獎金高達270萬美元，冠軍將會獲得高達30萬美元的獎金。比賽從5月17日就已開啟報名，將會在6月份舉辦兩輪比賽。有興趣的開發人員可以前往bada開發者網站進行報名http://developer.bada.com/challenge/index.do。

三星為推動S8500的銷售，也已經和不少合作夥伴製作了一些精品手機應用。其中手機遊戲開發公司Gameloft已經準備好了bada平台的手機遊戲產品，其中包括《實況足球2010》、《現代戰爭：沙漠風暴》、《極品飛車》等，三星也準備有其他一些應用和各種電子書。相信S8500的1GHzCortex A8處理器和專用的圖形卡芯片會為手機玩家帶來全新的遊戲體驗。

We have structured the competition so that as many developers as possible receive recognition and a reward for their efforts, including both cash and devices.
