Proposed Debt Rationalisation
Proposed Debt Rationalisation
On behalf of Scomi Group Bhd (SGB), CIMB Investment Bank Berhad wishes to
announce that Scomi Oilfield Limited (SOL), a 76.08%-owned subsidiary of SGB,
will be undertaking a debt rationalisation exercise to further strengthen its
financial position to capitalise on the improving business environment of the
oil and gas sector.
The exercise will primarily involve the rationalisation of SOLs overall debt
profile to improve its liquidity position. Pursuant to the proposal, SOL is
expected to be in a better financial position arising from an enhanced debt
capital structure and liquidity position.
The said exercise, which will not be subject to shareholders approval, is
expected to be completed within this year.
This announcement is dated 31 March 2010.
