Cahya Mata subsidiary bags RM232mil contract

KUALA LUMPUR: Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd (CMSB) said its subsidiary CMS Land Sdn Bhd has received a letter of award for a contract worth RM232mil. [砂拉越CMSB集团旗下CMS Land有限公司获得批准建设投资金额高达2亿3千2百万令吉的砂拉越电力局总部建筑物。]

The contract is for the development and construction of the headquarters building for Sarawak Energy Bhd at Isthmus, Kuching, CMSB said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia. [此栋建筑物将会建在古晋Isthmus岛屿上。]

The contract, however, was not expected to have any material effect on the earning, net assets, share capital and substantial shareholders’ shareholdings of CMSB for the financial year ending Dec 31, it said.

The project is expected to be completed in 28 months. [该工程将耗时28个月或2年又4个月的时间来完成。]

Contents:
Further to the announcement made on 3 April 2009 and pursuant to Paragraph 10.09 and Practice Note 12/2001 of the Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities”), the Board of Directors of Putrajaya Perdana Berhad (“PPB” or the “Company”) wishes to announce that Putra Perdana Construction Sdn Bhd (“PPC”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of PPB has on 15 April 2009 received an award of a contract to design, develop, construct, complete and transfer the proposed Sarawak Energy Berhad's headquarters building on part of Lot 2342, Block 7, Isthmus, MTLD, Kuching, Sarawak and its related infrastructure works from CMS Land Sdn Bhd (“CMS Land”), a subsidiary of Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (“CMS”) for a total contract sum of RM221 million (“Project”), pending the execution of an agreement to contract between PPC and CMS Land in respect of the said award, based on agreed terms and conditions. CMS Land shall enter into a development agreement in respect to the Project with the client, Sarawak Energy Berhad.

The development period for the Project is 28 months, that is from 15 April 2009 to 14 August 2011 and the Project is expected to have a positive impact on the earnings and net assets of the Group for the financial years ending 31 December 2009, 31 December 2010 and 31 December 2011.

The above transaction is carried out in the ordinary course of business and is on normal commercial terms not more favourable to the related party than those generally available to the public and are not detrimental to the minority shareholders of the Company.

CMS is a major shareholder of the Company via its direct equity interest of 100% in Concordance Holdings Sdn Bhd which holds 28.3% direct equity interest in UBG Berhad (“UBG”) and indirect interest of 51% in PPES Works (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, which in aggregate holds more than 15% direct interest in UBG, whereby UBG in turn holds 85.9% direct interest in PPB. YBhg Dato Sri Mahmud Abu Bekir Taib is the Deputy Chairman of the Company. He is also the Deputy Group Chairman and a major shareholder of CMS.

Save as disclosed above, none of the Directors or major shareholders of the Company or persons connected to them has any interest, direct or indirect in the above transaction.

The Directors of the Company, having duly considered all aspects of the above transaction, are of the opinion that the above transaction is in best interests of the Group.

This announcement is dated 15 April 2009.

对于建筑的外形还算有点时代感..电力局的标志就其丑无比..
不晓得哪个水皮大师的杰作。。这个设计小学三年级的学生的作品都比它亮眼~
色调。。logo造型简直是停留在五六十年代~

我觉得设计蛮有砂拉越的特色,而且顶楼还有植树,就像一个小公园。
不过就觉得isthmus的定位有点奇怪。
不是商业中心,但有购物商场和展览馆
不是办公中心,却有这个办公楼
不是旅游中心,却有酒店和水上乐园
不是住宅区,却有高级公寓

不过,我觉得isthmus有很大的发展潜能。
