带着深度的黑帮故事内容与爽快的动作，与前作一样，在《黑手党2》中玩家将进入一个1940年代的地下世界。故事的背景设定于帝国城（Empire City），城市设定则差不多取材于二十世纪五十年代时的旧金山。据报道，该城市的面积要比初代中的失落天堂（Lost Heaven）大一倍，并且扩充了许多独特的地点和区域。

黑手党2同时也采用了物理破坏模型于车辆之中，你可以看到破碎的玻璃、爆炸的气罐以及更加真实化、细节化的损坏过程。在行驶一段距离后，你需要给它补足燃料才能继续前进，同时随着时间的推进或开过泥泞的区域，车辆也会被覆盖灰尘和泥土，这些你都可以在城市中的加油站或洗车点进行补给和清洗等。

当年第一集是相当出色的游戏，但唯一缺点就是汽车行驶太过慢，大概只有40 - 60 kmph，我玩到顶不顺，但都总算完结。

结局很有震撼力，很有香港电影特色。

这个是帮家族“吃大茶饭”，GodFather是帮教父“打理生意”，
不知道哪个才是最好玩的黑手党游戏？

没错，第一集汽车的确有点慢，但这不是最大的问题，
最大的问题就是枪械后坐力太过强大，Revolver开几枪已经向天了！
Thompsom开枪，“吧！吧！吧！吧！”，crosshair已经向天了！
最好用的还是colt1911而已。

真实嘛。。。你以为真枪会像 GTA 那么容易乱射咩。。。

第一代，MAFIA 好过 GODFATHER 很多。
单单画面就已经是很漂亮了，好像是第一个角色脸部有表情，讲话口会动的游戏。

论画面，我觉得mafia 2好过god father２...我也比较好六，七十年代的风格。

第一代时我玩了两次
是个非常好的游戏，当然印象最深刻是在跑车那边
第二就是上小型油轮那边杀人
从一个Taxi仔到卷入帮黑帮杀人，第一的故事真的非常好！
