10M的寬頻不足夠播放高質量的電視，100M才是他們要的。高清的話30M是基本的要求。

什麽PPStream或PPSTV等嚴格來説是非法的。而且沒有給版權。IPTV是透過寬頻來傳送電視訊號。到頭來也是需要機頂盒來解碼的，一樣有遙控器的。只不過好處是不會受天氣影響。（全世界只有衛星會受天氣影響的）

Music Actif又不是HD台，當然和平時的astro台一樣啦。數碼意思是用數碼方式來發放電視訊號。數碼不等于高清。而且還要看壓縮技術和壓縮比例。astro的就是壓縮的太夠力了。

Astro is constantly looking at ways to improve its subscriber offer and High Definition Satellite Broadcasting is a service enhancement that has been under active consideration.  However, due to the limited quantity of HD content currently available in the region we have some concerns about our ability to sustain a worthwhile HD service at this time. In addition, until recently, the debate between proponents of the lower resolution progressive (720p) and higher resolution interlaced (1080i) standards have not provided any clear technical direction.



However, due to increased manufacturing efficiencies, economies of scale and the recent introduction of HD DVD and Blu Ray discs, the prices of HD-ready consumer hardware are decreasing and a worldwide HDTV broadcasting standard is now starting to take shape. This standard, of 1920 pixels x 1080 lines, progressively scanned, (1080p/50) matches the quality of current High Definition DVD disc players and Astro is therefore adopting a patient approach in order to provide HD broadcasts in this standard from day 1 rather than the lesser quality interim broadcast standards that has occurred in some other countries.  



Cost-effective chipsets capable of decoding 1080p/50 digital bit streams are now starting to become available and Astro intends to incorporate these into HD versions of its next generation of Digital Multimedia Terminals due out within next 3 years.

來看看MCMC之前定下的標準：

3.3.3 HDTV Formats:
         Resolution / Frame Rate/ Scanning / Aspect Ratio
         1080p50: 1920x1080 / 50 / Progressive / 16:9 (Opt)
         1080p25: 1920x1080 / 25 / Progressive / 16:9 (Opt)
         1080i25: 1920x1080 / 25 / Interlaced / 16:9 (Req)
         720p50 1280 x720 / 50 / Progressive / 16:9 (Req)
         720p25 1280x720 / 25 / Progressive / 16:9 (Req)

Req：Require 必須
Opt：Optional 選擇性

由此可見1080p/50是最高標準
全球現在使用的基本上有兩班人馬：720p和1080i
美國= NBC-1080i，ABC-720p，CBS-1080i，FOX-720p，ESPN-720p，Discovery-1080i, Cartoon Network-1080i, History Channel-720p, HBO-1080i, Cinemax-1080i
香港= TVB-1080i, atv-1080i
新加坡= HD5-1080i

爲什麽會爭論呢？
p=progressive或逐行掃描，就是每一行都會掃描，畫面當然是最好的。i=interlace或隔行掃描，意思是他們門會跳行來掃描。
比如説1080i 就是1080/2=540行而已，比起720p還差！
問題是720p只有1280x720，是比較小的像素，在Full HD電視看會比較吃虧，因爲要zoom大畫面。
但是1080i實際上掃描比較少，可是剛好鋪滿整個畫面，問題是快速移動的畫面，例如運動節目就會看得不是那麽理想。
如果真的1080p/50的話，你可以大大聲笑外國的朋友，笑他們的只有1080i。
目前只有美國一部分On Demand節目（電影）是1080p廣播的。不過在紐約也開始測試1080p了。

这些产品进步太快
过一年，就全新的科技和效果呈现在大家面前

現在大部分都是在電腦看高清節目。
連youtube都有高清了。看到日本的節目真的非常唯美。顔色真的很豐富。
美國的就注重觀賞電視劇和電影的感覺，連台標都不可以有顔色。
plasama 也就讓技術改進一點和價格再滑落一點。畢竟現在唯一就是FullHD了。50寸或以上的還是蠻貴的。我最愛的plasma加油哦~

收費當然會起啦。全世界的衛星高清電視每年都起价。
美國人怨聲四起。可是他們的HD 實在是沒話説。
美國至少有100個HD台。現在他們面對頻寬不夠的困境。
要一直發射新的衛星上空。

下雨会不会看不到。。

下雨看不到是這裡的問題。美國就下雪看不到。他們更慘，要叫人來把雪清理掉。
這裡還好沒有雪，不然會更死。

就是咯,因为这样，我才刚买了二手的panasonic29寸的高档CRT彩电 。
省下来的一千到时可以卖1080p的LCD了

我最忍受不到的是用CRT以外的電視看astro真的很傷心。看FTA的還比它清。
