新年嘉年华会

Inconjunction with the Chinese New Year Festival on the 6th of February2008, the Certificate in Business Studies Department plan to organise aChinese New Year Carnival. We would like to promote the spirit of joyand happiness in celebrating Chinese New Year, create awareness tostudents on the role they could play in order to minimise the crimerate during the festival season, and at the same time, encourage thestudents to be more caring and sensitive to the unfortunate group ofpeople particularly to the elderly people who needs a little attentionwhilstothers are enjoying the festivity. The details of the event areas below :

WHAT :

Chinese New Year Carnival Theme : "Prosperity with a Heart"
The theme will incorpate the concept of :

1. Festive celebration mood.
2. Safety aspects during the celebration day.
3. Caring for the elderly and needy.

WHY :

The Chinese New Year Carnival targets to achieve the following objectives :

1. To inculcate the value of strong sense of belonging, caring, sharing and responsibility towards
  the society and surroundings.

2. To develop and enhance students' entrepreneurial skill through reallife experience by application of theories on concerts learned insubjects.

3. To increase the awareness of the people in Johor and nationwide onSouthern College which help to drive new students enrolment.


WHO is involve :

1. The participants - the students of Southern College.
2. External participants - entrepreneurs in the surrounding area withinthe vicinity of Southern College eg: boutiques, saloon, restaurantowners and etc.
3. Polis Diraja Malaysia - to conduct exhibition on Rakan Cop.
4. Ceshire Old Folks Home residents.

Products to sell :

1. Mandarin Oranges
2. Hampers
3. Clothings
4. Fashion accessories
5. Frozen Food
6. Cookies
7. Drinks
8. Other festive Chinese New Year products

There will be live cooking in the hall on the day. Cooked food will be prepared at home or other suitable places.

2 。发展和提高学生的创业技能，通过实际的生活体验，通过理论的运用，对演唱会的教训科目。

3 。旨在提高人民群众在柔佛和在全国范围内对南方学院的帮助，以推动新的学生入学。

1 。参加者-南方学院的学生。
2 。外部参与者-企业家，南方学院的周边范围：精品店，酒馆，餐馆老板等。
